Petal & Vine Blocks 3 & 4

Petal & Vine Blocks 3 & 4

Welcome to Petal & Vine Sew-Along

This collection is a whimsical quilt composed of sixteen blocks, each featuring its own fanciful flower surrounded by twirling, curling vines. It has simple pieced backgrounds and large appliqué pieces making it maker friendly.

Petal & Vine is part of my free monthly block pattern give-away. To learn more about this collection, fabric requirements for the full quilt, block release schedule, how to get free patterns and more, please read the Petal & Vine - Start Here" Blog.  ➡️HERE

This month we are stitching blocks 3 & 4. Let's take a look....

Stitching Tips

  • In block 3 you will be making 2 circles. I recommend you make these by using a circle template and the gathering stitch method. You will need 1" and 1¼" circle templates. This is the easiest way to make crisp, round circles. You can read more instruction here:

  • For block 2 flower, be sure to keep turn under seem allowances narrow. This will be especially helpful in making petal points. Clipping inner curves will make seam allowance fold under smoothly. Do not clip out curves.
