Petal & Vine is a whimsical quilt composed of sixteen blocks, each featuring its own fanciful flower surrounded by twirling, curling vines. Rather than striving for botanical realism, the flowers are playful and expressive.
The blocks are arranged in a gridded, mosaic-like layout, evoking the feeling of looking out through windowpanes. Flowing vines weave movement throughout the quilt connecting the individual blocks into a cohesive hole while maintaining the charm of each distinct bloom.

I'm excited to introduce this new floral collection. I hope you will love it as much as I do!
Collection Details:
- This collection consists of 16 appliqué blocks and a quilt setting. Blocks will finish 12" square. Finished quilt measures approximately 65" x 65".
- This program begins in February and will run for 8 months, finishing in September. Each month 2 block patterns will be released. One will be included in the free block program. The second bonus block will be available for purchase.
- Block patterns will be released on the first Tuesday of each month.
- Finish setting and border instructions will be released in September.
Free Block Program:
- I will be giving a free Petal & Vine block pattern away each month. This will be given to email subscribers only. The link to free PDF block pattern will be included in emails sent out on the first Tuesday of each month. Free block pattern will only be available for the given month, then pattern will be available for purchase. There will be a total of 8 Petal & Vine block patterns given free, one each month, from February through September.
Quilt Setting:
- Below is an image of the setting offered for Petal & Vine. Finished size of this quilt is approximately 65" x 65".
- There will be various options for block arrangement, each changing the look of the finished quilt.
- This image includes the pieced background and curved corner patches in blocks to help with fabric selection. (Instruction for piecing block background and template for curved corner patch will be included in block patterns.)
Fabric Requirements:
- Fabric requirements include fabric needed for full quilt including appliqué blocks, pieced setting blocks, border & binding. (Link to download below).

- For block backgrounds I recommend you choose 3 shades; very light, light and medium, in the same color family. This will give the background dimension without becoming to busy as the appliqué sits on top. This image shows my three fabrics.
- The curved corner patches and sashing corner stones is your color choice.
- I am using a very light for my sashing, though a dark could be interesting as well. The images below show a few different color options; backgrounds in greys, pink/peach and blues. The last image shows the sashing going very dark rather than light.
- Choose a multitude of colors and prints for the appliqué. Think flowers! The image below is my flower and leave fabric pull.

- Do I need to sign up?
No. As long as you are an email subscriber, you will get the monthly free blocks and be notified when bonus blocks are released.
- When are the blocks released?
Block patterns are released on the 1st Tuesday of each month beginning in February.
- What size are the appliqué blocks?
The appliqué blocks finish at 12" square
- Will there be setting and border instructions?
Yes. Finish setting and border instruction will be released in September.
- How do I get the block patterns each month?
Email subscribers will find a link to download the free monthly PDF block pattern in the email newsletter sent out the first Tuesday of each month. Bonus blocks, as well as past blocks, will be available for purchase on my website.
- What will the cost be for bonus blocks?
Bonus blocks from the Petal & Vine Collection will cost $4.00 per pattern.
- What if I miss a free block or start the program late?
All past blocks are available for purchase on my website for $4.00 per pattern and may be purchased at any time.
- Can I get free blocks if I'm not an email subscriber?
No. Free blocks are available exclusively to my email subscribers.
- Will there be tutorials?
Each month, along with the block pattern release, I will release a blog with extra tips and images.
- Will there be a full pattern released?
Yes. When this program ends, I will release a full pattern including all 16 appliqué blocks, setting, border and instructions for putting it all together.
