Hello February

February means Spring is just around the corner! It also means a new block pattern in the QBM Year of Bears series. 

Each month the Quilt Blog Mania participating designers share a block pattern inspired by the month's theme. The pattern is free for the month. I'll be designing and giving away a block each month reflecting the Quilt Block Mania monthly theme, however, my block designs will also follow my Year of Bears theme. February's QBM theme is "Maker". What will our little bear be making? I didn't even have to think about this one.... He's making a quilt, of course! With needle and thread he's making the perfect quilting stitches. 

More Bear Blocks?

Designing these little bear blocks has been so much fun, and a little addicting. I just can't seem to stop! So... I've decided to add a few more designs. You might decide to replace one of the monthly bear blocks or you may want to make a larger quilt with more blocks. These bonus blocks will allow you more options. Keep in mind, if you do decide to make additional blocks to make a larger quilt (larger than 12 blocks), you will need additional background fabric. Following the requirements given in last month's blog, every 3 blocks will need 1/2 yard of background fabric. 

Valentines Day is coming, so my first bonus block was designed with this in mind. Little Bear is in Love! All dressed up with his bow tie, he's ready with a gift of hearts and flowers.
