March reveals two more blocks!
It seems Garden Mouse is pampering herself a little. Lets take a peek...
Bubble Bath

Garden Mouse has found the perfect tea cup for a lovely, relaxing bubble bath. She even has tiny cucumber slices to sooth her tired eyes. I'm not sure if that caterpillar is just curious or if it's trying to sneak a bite of cucumber.
Stitching Tips
- I love the cucumber slice! It was fairly easy to make too. Start with a 1/2" circle of light green. With a darker green floss, embroidery around the outside edge of the circle with 2 strands in an Outline Stitch. Stitch 2 rows very close together. Lastly, make daisy stitches in the middle. So cute!

- Embellish your caterpillar as you choose. Using brighter or more contrasting colors will make him stand out. Where as less contrast will let him stay a bit hidden if you choose. You can embroider stripes like I did or use a striped fabric. Lots of options on this one.
- Have fun choosing fabric for the tea cup. I wanted something floral, but not too bold. What will you choose?

Frog Kiss
Hmmm... could Garden Mouse be searching for her own prince charming? I don't know but Mr. Frog looks like he might just be love struck!
Stitching Tips
- Getting the mouse lips just right took some time to figure out. But in the end, I found a super easy solution. The appliqué shape is just rounded where the lips will be. Then, embroider with 2 strands of floss, in either red or pink, 2 daisy stitches with the points together. It almost looks like a heart or in this case, lips. You can add a stitch or two inside the petals to fill them in if you want. So easy and so cute!
- The little heart on the frog's cheek can be just the heart outline or you can fill it in with a satin stitch. If you outline it, you can just use a running stitch like I did or use an Outline stitch for a more solid line.
- I gave my bee stripes with multiple embroidered lines stitched closely together. But you may be able to find a yellow and black stripe fabric to do the work for you.
- I made the arbor the same way I make my bias stems. A stripe fabric works great with bias strips. Give it a try in this arbor or with some stems.
