June reveals two more blocks!
What's mouse doing today? Lets take a peek...
Nap Time
Our little Garden Mouse is busy as can be, but sometimes she needs a rest. As garden mouse takes a peaceful nap, a dragonfly curiously looks on. A nap in a leaf hammock sounds perfect, doesn't it?
Stitching Tips
- The centers of these flowers are easily made by using the same technique as making circles. Start off by making a template. If you're using freezer paper, I find it's helpful to use 2-3 layers so that the template is sturdier. Make sure to cut your template smoothly, any small nicks or bumps in the template will show up in the finished patch. Now follow my normal circle making instructions. You can find instruction here.

- When choosing your greens for the leaves and stem, look at the overall design. You will need a variety of tones and values so that each patch shows up. Also, remember the embroidered vine. It will also need to show by contrasting with the stem and leaf.
After a nap, Garden Mouse is ready to play.
Gymnastic Practice
When baby opossum comes to visit, everyone shows off their best gymnastic moves! Opossum is hanging upside down with no hands, garden mouse is showing her hand stand and even beetle hangs with just one leg! Great job everyone!
Stitching Tips
- When making an appliqué template for the opossum tail, I made the template as one piece, rather than breaking it up into 3 separate patches. After preparing the patches, you will "weave: the opossum tail around the pole patch. I found this worked well for me.

- I chose to make the beetle blue, because I wanted a pop of color. What will your beetle be?
